Allergies and their Effects on Eyes by Optician of Mauritians

When the immune system of the body becomes more sensitive then it starts reacting to the allergens. There are many such elements in the air. As per the optician of Mauritians, an allergic reaction takes place when there is an interaction between the antibodies settled to the mast cells in your eyes and any allergen in the air.

The mast cells release histamine and other chemicals which in turn lead to a leakage of the tiny blood vessels and thus the eyes get teary, irritated or red. An eye allergy might have similar symptoms like other ocular diseases. The providers of blue light protection glasses in Mauritius state that these symptoms can be any from amongst a wide array of symptoms.

There are a few common eye allergy conditions. Some of those are:

Conjunctivitis – This is perhaps the most common variant. It is mostly seasonal. Pollens are the most popular cause for it. Allergens present indoors, like molds, dust mites can also lead to this condition.

Atopic Keratoconjunctivitis – Late adolescent young adults mostly suffer from this. Males are more prone to getting it than females. The eyes become red and itchy and heavy discharge also takes place from the eyes.

Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis – The optician of Mauritians states that this is quite an uncommon condition and mostly occurs in pre – adolescent boys. Open, dry, dusty, windy and warm places carry the chances of this disease more. The discharge in this case is “stringy”. The upper eyelids appear to be “cobblestoned”.

Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis – The name is such due to the presence of large bumps called papillae which can be found on the conjunctiva which is under the upper eyelid. Contact lens may cause this condition. A thick discharge takes place. The regular contact lens users should be well aware of this condition which might affect them.
