Misconceptions About Using Blue Light Glasses

There are tons of misconceptions surrounding the usage of Blue Light Glasses or blue light blocking glasses in Mauritius. People still are unaware so as to when to use them or what purpose do they serve. Knowing the differences in each type would make everyone’s lives easier.

Types of Blue Light Glasses

There are three types of blue light lenses, which are:

  • Blue Blockers – These can block blue light effectively by 100%.
  • Blue/Green Blockers – These can block 100% blue light and some amount of green light too.
  • Blue Reducers – These glasses help in blocking certain wavelengths, ranging from 400 to 495 nm.

The Colours to Choose from

Methods to Choose the Correct Blue  Blocking Light Glasses

Yellow lens are best recommended to be used during the day time. In this case, using lenses of other colours like red, amber isn’t a very good idea. These colours can also affect your body clock. While you select your blue light protection glasses in Mauritius, you should make sure to:

  1. Reduce the blue light wavelengths. The highest areas should be in the 450 nm or less or it would be of no use.
  2. Check if the frequencies more than 450nm are not reduced. It makes sure that healthy blue light levels are there during the day.

While out in the sun, blue light from the sun is beneficial but avoid it for artificial lights.
